Mary Teresa Piazza of Haverhill died December 22, 2009 after a short illness, she was 80 years old.
Born April 30, 1929 Mary grew up in the “Acre” section of Lowell, MA. Mary attended local schools and graduated from Lowell High School, Class of 1947.
Also in 1947, Mary met the love of her life Adam P. Piazza of Lawrence. They met at the Frolics at Salisbury Beach. Mary and Adam were married at Holy Rosary Church September 2, 1951.
Mary and Adam lived in Pensacola Florida and Newport Rhode Island while Adam served in the US Navy. After leaving the Navy, they settled in and raised their children in Andover Massachusetts until moving to Haverhill in 1993.
Mary’s family was her greatest joy. She enjoyed having everyone over to the house on Sundays and on holidays to have a nice dinner, a sip of wine, some beautiful music, a dance in the kitchen and to tell a few stories of days gone by. Mary was genuinely interested and involved in the lives of her children, grandchildren and great-grand children. Mary loved Big Band music and loved to dance. Mary also loved the ocean and spent as much time as possible enjoying the beaches at the Maine and New Hampshire coastlines.
Mary loved everyone and she was loved by everyone in return. She was a wonderful compassionate and caring wife, a nurturing mother, grandmother and great-grand mother. Mary was a friend to all and was a fun person to be around. Mary will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
