Adela S. (Benbenek) Faria, 90, of New Bedford died Wednesday December 23, 2009 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Manuel V. Faria.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Anthony and Estella (Smygiel) Benbenek, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
Mrs. Faria was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, South Dartmouth.
She is survived by her son, Eric V. Faria of New Bedford; and several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 1 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Visitation Monday 12 Noon - 1 PM, prior to the service. Burial in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. For directions and guestbook, please visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
