Obituary

Francis J. “Bud” Toomey, 89, died suddenly on Monday, December 21, 2009. He was the loving husband of Lena M. (Citroni) Toomey, with whom he shared 44 years of marriage.
Born in Danvers on May 12, 1920, he was the son of the late Frank and Marie (Buckley) Toomey. He was raised and educated in Danvers and was a lifelong Danvers resident. Bud served honorably in the US Army during World War II.
He was employed as a mechanic by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Dept. of Public Works until the time of his retirement, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Thomas E. Power Council #1505.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by two brothers, John Toomey and his wife Patricia, and James Toomey and his wife Evangeline, all of Danvers, and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Marie Ferriero, Rita Matsubara, and David and Raymond Toomey.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, December 28, 2009 at 9AM in Saint Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Sunday from 2-5PM in C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square.
