Obituary

Holden—Violet M. (Blanchette) Johnson Hagan, 85, formerly of Shrewsbury and Sun City Center, FL, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 21, 2009 at the Holden Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of Harold T. Johnson and John J. Hagan. She leaves a son Gary L. and his wife Deb A. Johnson of Westborough; a daughter Karen L. Marean of Holden; 4 beloved grandchildren, Heidi, Todd, Matthew, and Heather; 3 great-grandchildren who were the love of her life—Kaitlyn, Rebecca, and Ryan; 2 sisters, Victoria J. Posson and Irene A. DeMarco; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 2 brothers Robert and Rudolph Blanchette and 1 sister Doris Williams.

Violet was born in Canada, daughter of Juliette (Cloutier) and Phillippe Blanchette. She was very creative and especially enjoyed Bunka, sewing, hosting dinner parties, and going to casinos. Violet was a good friend to all.

Mrs. Hagan’s family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the wonderful nurses and caregivers at the Holden Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center and UMass Memorial Hospice—especially Claire, Gladys, Molly, and Andrea.

Calling hours will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester Sunday, December 27, from 4-7 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home Monday, December 28, at 10:00 a.m. Following cremation, burial will be held at a later date in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
