Funeral services for Cecil Wilkerson, 82, of Rebecca, Ga. will be held Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at 2:00 P. M. at the Rebecca Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Rebecca. Mr. Wilkerson died Saturday at his residence following an extended illness.
Mr. Wilkerson was born in Turner County, Georgia and was the son of the late Billy Richard & Matilda Gertrude Stalls Wilkerson. He was retied from the Georgia DOT as a machine operator and a retired farmer. He was of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Wilkerson was preceded in death by four brothers, Richard, Lewis, B.R., and Jimmy Wilkerson.
Mr. Wilkerson is survived by his wife, Laverne Slocumb Wilkerson, Rebecca, Ga., two sons and daughters in law, Rickey & Becky Wilkerson, Rebecca, Ga., Darrell & Suzanne Wilkerson of Ashburn, Ga., and one daughter and son in law, Joan & Stan Holloway of Rebecca, Ga. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Ben & Heather McWhorter, Matthew Holloway, Kimberly & Lance Swanson, Courtney & Cole Sercer, Amber & Barry Dalrymple, Haley Wilkerson and Allison Wynn, and his great grandchildren, Shelby, Gracie, & Railey McWhorter, Graham and Hatcher Swanson and Cloe Sercer. Also surviving is one brother L.C. Wilkerson, Fitzgerald, Ga. and three sisters, Faustine Stubbs, Rebecca, Ga., Dorothy Shell, Pitts, Ga., and Lizzie Mae Musselwhite, Warwick, Ga.
The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Chapel.
