Johanena (MacDonald) Matthews of Reading, passed away Friday, September 12, 2003 at her home. She was 95 years of age.
Born in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada, she was a resident of Reading for the past 60 years. She was employed by the Reading School Department managing the school cafeteria. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be missed by all. Her warm and gentle smile reflected all the wonderful relationships she had made over the years. Mrs. Matthew’s love for her family went unparalleled. She was a dedicated homemaker for many years. Johanena loved the Senior Center enjoying lunch and bingos there. She also loved reading books and listening to books on tapes. Donations in memory of Johanena may be made to the Reading Public Library 64 Middlesex Avenue, Reading, Massachusetts 01867.
