NORTH ANDOVER-Robert W. Finn, 79, A lifelong resident of North Andover, Massachusetts died on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill, Massachusetts.
Born in North Andover, Massachusetts, on February 4, 1930 to David A. and Kathryn (Ward) Finn. Mr. Finn was educated at the Brad Street Grammar School and a graduate of Johnson High School class of 1949. In 1950 Mr. Finn enlisted into the United States Air Force during the Korean War attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. He worked for Raytheon and Aramark for many years until his retirement. He was past Commander of the VFW Post #2104 in North Andover, MA. Bob was a passionate Boston Red Sox fan, he loved the Patriots, and he enjoyed watching golf.
He leaves one sister: Joan (Finn) Fisher of North Andover, MA, also two nieces: B. Lee Gesing Briggs and her husband Dave of Barnstead, NH & Dianne Finn of Dunwoodie, Georgia. Two nephews Robert Gesing and his wife Deborah of North Andover, MA and David Finn of Springfield. Two great nieces: Jennifer Wood Fields of Enfield, NH & Erica Gesing of North Andover, MA. As well as several cousins. He is predeceased by his sister: Barbara (Finn) Gesing and his brother: D. Warren Finn.
He is also survived by his beloved companion of 15 years Judith Hogan of Medford, MA; and her three children Donna DeWolfe of Cornelius, NC; Karen and her husband Wayne Berry of Andover, MA; and Thomas Hogan and his wife Treena of Aurora, CO. Cherished Papa of Krista, Michael, Matthew and Emily DeWolfe, Jackson, Tessa, Sydney and Ella Berry, Rachel and Zachary Hogan.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at 10:00AM at St. Michael Church in North Andover, MA. A burial will follow in Ridgewood Cemetery in North Andover, MA.
