Lucille A. (D'Amelio) Iacono passed away on December 12, 2009.
Born in Italy, Lucille was a longtime resident of Malden. She moved to St. Petersburg, Florida in 1978 but spent her summers in Gloucester, MA. Lucille was married to the late Louis D. Iacono for 55 years. She spent most of her working career in retail department stores. While in Florida she was very active in various bridge clubs, the Theater and attended many spring training baseball games. She loved traveling with her friends especially on boat cruises. She was always on the go and loved shopping for new clothes and dinning out. While in Gloucester she enjoyed the ocean and was active at the YMCA Wet Hens and senior center. She loved watching the Red Sox and going to Fenway Park. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Lucille was the beloved mother of George Iacono and his wife Carol of Gloucester, James Iacono and his wife Rosalie of Ipswich and Linda Halloran and her husband Gary of Malden. She was the dear sister of the late Antoniette Clarke and the cherished grandmother of 5 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden on Thursday, December 17th from 5-9 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Funeral services followed by interment in Holy Cross Cemetery on Friday will be private.
