Sister Aelred Jones, CSJ, a beloved member of the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Boston for 72 years, died Saturday, December 12, 2009 Daughter of the late William Francis and Marguerite L. (Halloran) Jones. Sister of Paul and Daniel Jones, as well as George and Paul Clattenburg who were cared for by the Jones family. Sister of the late Marguerite Sullivan, William Jones, Dorothy Keating, Robert P. Jones and Charles and Robert L. Clattenburg. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Formerly missioned as a teacher, Principal and Religious Education Coordinator at St. James School, Haverhill; taught at Daly Industrial, Dorchester; St. Catherine, Charlestown; St. Joseph, Malden; St. James, Medford; and was a kindergarten teacher at Holy Name, West Roxbury. Sister Aelred was Co-administrator of Fontbonne Hall, Framingham.
Visiting hours for both Marguerite and her sister, Sr. Mary Aelred, CSJ will be held on Wednesday from 4-8 pm in the Doherty - Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St. READING. Parking is available in the municipal parking lot on Linden St. A Funeral Mass honoring both Marguerite and Sr. Mary Aelred will be held on Thursday at 10 am in St. Agnes Church, 186 Woburn St. READING . Sr. Mary Aelred’s interment will be immediately following at Calvary Cemetery, Woburn.
