Obituary

Mary K. (Crowley) Wilson, a lifelong resident of Winchester, passed away at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston on Dec. 14th after a brief illness. Born in Cambridge, she was the daughter of the late Bernard F. and Mary F. (Fennelly) Crowley. She graduated from Fischer Jr. College and subsequently worked for Davenport-Peters in Boston as an administrator. During WWII, Mary worked as a decoder for the U.S. Government and volunteered with the U.S.O. In Winchester, she was active with St. Mary’s Church as a member of the Mr. and Mrs. Club and also volunteered her time with St. Mary’s School activities and the Girl Scouts. Mary loved the Maine seacoast and enjoyed spending time with her family at her residence in Kennebunkport, ME. In her spare time, she was an avid crossword puzzler and liked to needlepoint. She was the beloved wife of the late Arthur J. Wilson and the loving mother of Arthur J. Wilson, Jr. of Winchester, Karen Weaver and her husband Marcus of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, Mark Wilson and his wife Wendy of Nashua, NH and the late Stephen S. Wilson and Maryrose Barbaro. Mary was also the dear sister of Bernard Crowley of Melrose and the late Rose Preston and the devoted grandmother of Jennifer and Marcus Weaver and Rob Barbaro. Her funeral will be held from the Costello Funeral Home 177 Washington St. Winchester on Fri., Dec. 18 at 9AM followed by a Mass of Christian burial in St. Mary’s Church, 155 Washington St., Winchester, at 10AM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting Hours will be held in the Funeral Home Thurs. 5-8PM. Interment Wildwood Cemetery Winchester.
