Frank J. Abreu, passed away at his daughters home in Elma, New York, early Friday morning following a brief illness. The beloved husband of the late Mary E. (Sousa), with who he shared 49 years of marriage. He was ninety-nine years old.
Originally from Madeira, Portugal. He came to this country at the age of sixteen, and was a resident of Woburn for over seventy years. He retired from the Stauffer Chemical Company, of Woburn in 1969 and later moved to Elma, NY to be with his family.
He is survived by his son Frank Charles Abreu, of Seaside, Oregon, his daughter Mary Jean Evenick of Elma, New York. Five loving grandchildren Frank “Chuck” Abreu and Cher Blanc both of Independence, Kansas, Bonnie Jean Evenick of Cheektowaga, New York, Michael Charles Evenick of Tampa, Florida and Jonathan Charles Evenick of Knoxville, Tennesee. Also two loving great grandchildren Elizabeth Kirkpatrick and Amanda Blanc of Independence, Kansas.Uncle of Mary Silva of Lowell and Mary Nelson of California.
His funeral will be held from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home 60 Pleasant St. Woburn, on Tuesday, September 16, at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Charles Borromeo Church 280 Main St. Woburn at 9. Services will conclude with burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.
