Obituary

TEWKSBURY: Muriel F. (Kelly) Wilson, age 86, a resident of Melrose, formerly of Tewksbury, passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2009 at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington.
She was the wife of Alexander L. Wilson, who passed away on June 6, 1977.
Born in Charlestown on July 25, 1923, she was the daughter of the late William A. and Leona (Peterson) Kelly.
Muriel was raised in Charlestown, attended Charlestown schools and graduated from Charlestown High School.
In 1943, Muriel enlisted in the U.S. Navy. She served during World War II as a Radio Intelligence Specialist until her honorable discharge from active duty on January 4, 1946.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed by the Marshalls Clothing Store in Bedford. Muriel previously worked for Digital and Raytheon.
Muriel resided in Tewksbury for 29 years until moving to Melrose in 2006.
While living in Tewksbury, she was a communicant of St. Williams Parish.
She enjoyed playing bingo and traveling with her family.
Muriel is survived by four children, Alexander L. Wilson, Jr. of Billerica, Marion L. Smith and her husband Scott of Nob Noster, MO, Linda J. Boucher and her husband Joseph of Tewksbury and Patricia M. Billings and her husband John of Fairfax Station, VA; nine grandchildren, Matthew J. Boucher and his wife Leighann of Leawood, KS, Mark A. Boucher and his wife Kelly of Londonderry, NH, Michael R. Boucher of Tewksbury, MA, Anna E. Billings of Fairfax Station, VA, Catherine F. and Kimberly M. Wilson both of Marlboro, MA, Courtney E. Trumbo and her husband Michael of Norfolk, VA, Sean M. Osborne of IL and Alexander C. Smith of Nob Noster, MO; eight great grandchildren; two sisters, Leona G. McCafferty of Melrose and Lois Blume and her husband James of Arlington, VA; one brother, Eugene Kelly and his wife Nancy of Abington, MA; also many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Wilson was the sister of the late William and James Kelly.
Calling hours Wednesday, Dec. 16th, from 4-8 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Funeral Thursday, Dec. 17th, at 9 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Williams Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
