Obituary

Ignazio Terranova, of Andover, formerly of Medford, died suddenly at Saints Memorial Hospital, Lowell. He was 62.

Ignazio was born in Sicily the son of the late Giuseppe and the late Maria (Clemente) Terranova and came to the United States when he was 10. He lived first in the North End of Boston. After high school he served with the Army as a combat medic in Vietnam. After his service, Nazio lived in Medford and began a long career in the Biotech industry with firms such as Biogen and Gensyme. For the past several years he worked in quality control with Shire Pharmaceutical. An Andover resident for the past 17 years, Nazio was devoted to his wife, sons and large family.

The beloved husband of Madeline (Albano) Terranova, Nazio was a loving father to Joseph and John Terranova both of Andover. He was a devoted brother to Raymond Terranova of Wilmington, John Terranova of Orlando, FL, Gasper Terranova of Medford, Frank Terranova of Medford, Rosa Matara of Tewksbury and Joseph Terranova of Medford. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Wednesday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday 4 - 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
