Robert Mitchell Jordan, 88, Clarksville, died Saturday, December 12, 2009, at Gateway Medical Center. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Neal-Tarpley Chapel with Dr. Roger Freeman officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and from 12 p.m. until the time of the service Thursday at the funeral home. Neal-Tarpley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born June 20, 1921 in Oakwood, TN son of the late Robert Dudley Jordan and Willie Bell Norfleet Jordan. He was the senior supervisor of the Air Launch Missile Program in California and served in the US Navy during WW II. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Clarksville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marion Edna Gall Jordan, three brothers, David Jordan, Earle Jordan, and Dr. Edwin Jordan; and a sister, Bess Redding. Survivors include a son, Frank Jordan, Clarksville; a daughter, Jeanne Corn, Meridian, Mississippi; two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandaughter. Pallbearers will be Ray Stone, Dan Tubberville, Robert D. "Bobby" Jordan, William "Billy" Jordan, Robert Reagan, and Dr. Jerry Nash.
