Obituary

WAYLAND: Kathleen M. “Kathy” (MacDonald) Wood, 75, died unexpectedly on Thursday, December 10, 2009 at the Metrowest Medical Center in Framingham surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Brighton on December 3, 1934 the daughter of the late Edmund MacDonald and Catherine (McCormick) MacDonald.
Kathy was the beloved wife for 53 years of James J. Wood of Wayland. She was the loving mother of Terry Stirk and her husband Doug of Douglas; Debbie Swain and her husband Herb of Blackstone; Sandy Tobin and her husband Ken of Wayland; Jim Wood and his wife Lisa of Framingham and John Wood and his wife Sue of Southborough. She was the devoted grandmother of Laura Stirk; Derek Stirk and his wife Erin; Jeffrey Lindeman; Katie Lindeman; Sheri Lindeman; Thomas “TJ” Tobin; Jamie Tobin; Samantha Tobin; Shannon Wood; Jessica Wood; Kirsten Wood; Robert “RJ” Wood; Michael Wood and the late Tanya Wood. She was the cherished great-grandmother of Courtney; Casey; Jacob; Ezekiel; Brianna; Lucas and Mia. She was the sister of Francis MacDonald of Franklin and Mary Sanstrom of Winchendon. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Kathy has been a resident of Wayland for over 50 years and previously resided in Framingham. She spent her formative years in Newton where she attended and graduated from the Newton schools. She was a long time communicant of the Church of St. George in Framingham. She loved to play cards especially with her Wednesday night card group. Her greatest accomplishment in life was the love and devotion she shared with her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family was the center of her life and she will be greatly missed by them and all the lives she touched. Kathy was most delighted that every Friday night her entire family gathered at her home and played card games and enjoyed dinner.
Visitations will be held on Monday, December 14, 2009 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Route 30), Wayland.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at 10:00 am at the Church of St. George, 74 School Street, Framingham.
Interment will follow in the Wood family lot in Lakeview Cemetery in Wayland.
