Obituary

Jesup- Bruce Lloyd Newman, age 65, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2009. He was a native of Michigan, living in Jesup the past 17 years. Bruce was a nurse anesthetist at Wayne Memorial Hospital, a blacksmith and also did ornamental iron work. He was a former owner of a motorcycle shop and also a motorcycle and classic car enthusiast; a graduate of New York Military Academy and received his Anesthetist Degree from the Medical College of Virginia at Richmond. He was a member of the Blacksmithing Guild, a United States Army Veteran, and a member of the Unity Church of God.

Surviving is his wife: Fran Newman of Jesup; step-son: Art Todd of Screven; one sister: Priscilla Poucher and husband Claude of Jesup; one brother: Palmer E. Newman and wife Mary of Boca Raton, FL; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Memorial services will be held Monday, December 14, 2009 at 2 p.m. from the James R. Gordon Memorial Chapel with the Reverend George Moxley officiating.

The family will receive friends on Monday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
