Robert F. O'Connor, age 75, of Tewksbury, formerly of Woburn, died Wednesday December 9, 2009, in the Lexington Health Care Facility of Lexington, MA after a lengthy illness. Born in Woburn, Robert was the son of the late Marie & Owen O’Connor.
Mr. O’Connor was a US Air Force veteran of the Korean War. After he returned home, Robert drove for Consolidated Freightways for over 38 years. He enjoyed playing his keyboard and working on cars in his spare time. On the weekends, Robert considered it his family time. He and his beloved wife Merilyn, would spend all their time with their loving children. Robert did not have any brothers or sisters; he considered his cousins as such and loved them dearly.
Robert was the beloved husband of Merilyn J. (Smith) O’Connor. Devoted father of Deborah Gustin, and Michael O’Connor both of Epping, NH, Susan Gutierrez of Dover, NH, John O’Connor of Chichester, NH, and the late Robert F. O’Connor Jr. Also survived by 12 loving grandchildren and 12 loving great grandchildren. Further survived by many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the McLaughlin-Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., WOBURN, Saturday at 9 AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Charles Church, 280 Main St., Woburn at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday 5 thru 9. Services will conclude with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Woburn.
