NEW BEDFORD...Henry J. Vaillancourt, 80, of Westport died Wednesday,September 10, 2003 after a brief illness. He was the husband of Lillian (Sevigny)Vaillancourt and son of the late Ignace J. and Marie (Levesque) Vaillancourt.
He wasborn in Fall River and had been a resident of Westport since 1950. He died at theBlaire House of New Bedford. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Grace Churchin Westport.
He was formerly employed as a carpenter for the Local Union #1305 ofFall River for 45 years until his retirement in 1980. Mr. Vaillancourt was a WWIIveteran who served in the United States Army. He was a member of the Our Lady ofGrace Senior Citizens who enjoyed playing cards and bowling.
Survivors in addition tohis wife include 2 sons: Henry J. Vaillancourt and his wife Terri of Westport andGerard W. Vaillancourt of Fall River; 2 daughters: Joyce Durette and her husbandGerard of Westport and Trudy Ratcliffe and her husband Andy of N. Dartmouth; 2brothers: E. Paul Vaillancourt of Westport and Richard Vaillancourt of Tiverton, RI; 3sisters: Jeanne Bouley and Annette Martin both of Fall River and Helen Hart ofSomerset; 11 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Hewas the brother of the late Cecile Bailer, Robert Vaillancourt, Theresa Gagne, LorraineEgger, Blanche Allie and Augustine Caya.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited to attend will be held Saturday at9:00 A.M. at Potter Funeral Home, 81 Reed Road, Westport followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport at 10:00 A.M.
Calling hours will be Friday 4:00 to 8:00 P.M.
Interment will be in BeechGrove Cemetery, Westport.
