Carol Ann (Alvarez) Anderson, 71 of Avon formerly of Walpole died December 7 in the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. She was the wife of the late Leon J. Anderson who died in 2005.
Born in Boston, December 3, 1938 the daughter of the late Ralph and Anna (Droghen) Alvarez, Mrs. Anderson was raised and lived in Boston until moving to Walpole where she lived for 25 years prior to moving to Avon eight years ago.
Mrs. Anderson had been the cook at Blessed Sacrament Church in Walpole for 25 years until her retirement.
She was a member of the Avon Senior Citizens Committee and the Avon Beautification Committee.
Mrs. Anderson loved to garden and had a “Green Thumb’ when it came to flowers.
She is survived by her daughters Holly Silverman of Avon and Kimberly Royle of Walpole. She was the mother of the late David and John Anderson.
She is also survived by her grandchildren: Jami Woodworth, Sean Silverman, and Joey Zaborski.
Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 12 in the Ginley Funeral Home, 892 Main St., Walpole at 11:30 a.m.
Visitation will be on Saturday from 9:30-11:30 a.m.
