Joseph P. Flynn, age 94, passed away at his home in Weymouth on Monday December 7, 2009. Joe was the devoted husband of the late Rosemary V. (Bartels) Flynn. He is survived by his 2 brothers, John F. Flynn of South Weymouth and Philip F. Flynn of Duxbury and was the devoted uncle of many nieces and nephews. Mr. Flynn was born in Boston and lived most of his life in Weymouth. Joe was a Postal Clerk for the U.S. Postal Service in Weymouth for 30 years before retiring in 1979. He served his country in the Navy during World War II. Mr. Flynn was a devoted parishioner of the St. Francis Xavier Church for 80 years, a member of the George R. Bean V.F.W. Post in Weymouth, the D.A.V. of MA and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. The Funeral will be from the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Friday December 11 at 9 A.M. The Funeral Mass will be at the St. Francis Xavier Church, 261 Pleasant St. S. Weymouth at 10 A.M. Visiting Hours are on Thursday 3 to 7 P.M. Interment will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at 12:45 P.M.
