Obituary

Kingsbury “Kinki” White, 87, died Saturday, December 5, 2009 following a lengthy illness in a local nursing facility. He was the wife of the late Nadja (Melta) White, with whom he shared 33 years of marriage.
Born in Canton, NY, he was the son of the late Linwood and Rena (Smith) White. He was raised and educated in Danvers and was a graduate of Holten High School, Class of 1940, where he served as class president. He went on to serve honorably in the United State Marine Corps during WWII, obtaining the rank of tech sergeant.
For many years, Mr. White was employed as a milk salesman for H.P. Hood and Sons of Salem. Following his retirement, he worked in the maintenance department at the Hogan Regional Center for over ten years.
A lifelong Danvers resident, Mr. White was a member of the Maple Street Congregational Church. He was an avid sports fan who loved football and played on the Town Team after WWII.
He is survived by two sons, Richard White and John White and his wife Carol, all of Danvers, a daughter, Patricia White of Danvers, and a granddaughter, Sarah White of Danvers. He was predeceased by a brother, Howard White.
His Funeral Service will be Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at 12PM in C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Danvers. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours will precede the service Wednesday from 10-11:45am. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. White’s memory may be made to Beacon Hospice, 100 Cummings Center, Beverly, MA 01915.
