Obituary

Methuen, MA- Sister Fernande Ouellette, 98, died peacefully on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at the Ste Claire Residence.
Born on April 5, 1911, she was the 6th child of Cyprien Ouellette and Belzemire (Marcotte) Ouellette. She entered the Novitiate of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary in Saint-Hyacinthe, Canada in August, 1928. She pronounced her religious vows on February 3rd, 1931, the feast day of our Foundress, Blessed Marie Rivier. Sister Fernande assumed the name of Sister Marie Georges.
After her profession, Sister taught for over 25 years in different schools of our Congregation: in Maine, Massachusetts and Vermont.
In our High School for girls in Biddeford Pool, Maine, Sister taught Science courses for over 25 years. She was well loved by all the sisters, students and her family for her kindness and joyful personality.
In 1992, she came to live at Ste Claire Residence, Home for our retired Sisters. Since 1995, she came to reside in the Infirmary until she answered the last call from her loving God and heavenly Father.
She is survived by her brothers Raymond Ouellette of Laconia, NH and George Ouellette of Rollinsford, NH, niece, Emily of Portsmouth, NH and nephew Armand of Seneca, SC, as well as grand nieces and nephews and many friends and former students.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on Tuesday December 8th at the Ste Claire Residence 209 Lawrence St., in Methuen from 2-4 and 6-8PM. A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Wednesday at 2:30PM in the Presentaion of Mary Chapel followed by burial at the Presentaion of Mary Cemetery.
