FOREHAND, EDGAR PAUL, JR.
Edgar Paul Forehand, Jr., 87, of Summerville, husband of Ann Keyes Forehand, died Friday, December 4, 2009 at The Village of Summerville.
Family and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Monday, at 2 o’clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home Chapel, 303 S. Main Street, Summerville. Burial will follow at Dorchester Memory Gardens, 11000 Dorchester Road, Summerville. A visitation will be held at 1 o’clock Monday until hour of service.
Mr. Forehand was born September 14, 1922, in Lilly, GA, son of the late Edgar Paul Forehand, Sr. and Mary Ellen Watts Forehand. He attended Georgia Tech and North Carolina State University. He served in the United States Army during World War II and retired from Western Electric as an area supervisor. Mr. Forehand was a member of Summerville Baptist Church. He was an active member of various civic organizations and a lifetime member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.

Survivors, including his wife, are one son; Paul Forehand, III of Garner, NC, three daughters; Marcia Forehand Hoffman of Tifton, GA, Sherri Forehand of Greenville, SC and Lisa Forehand Shearin of Dunn, NC, four granddaughters; DeAnn Hoffman Avant of Summerville, Beth Forehand of Raleigh, NC, Allison Shearin Babyak of Cary, NC and Amanda Shearin of Cary, NC, five grandsons; Clay Hoffman of Waycross, GA, Michael Hoffman of Savannah, GA, E.P. Forehand, IV of High Point, NC, Joe Forehand of Raleigh, NC and Jeffrey Shearin of Raleigh, NC and nine great grandchildren.
