Obituary

Worcester-Helga Freeman, 95, of Worcester, passed away Friday, December 4, 2009 at her home after a short illness.

Ms. Freeman is survived by her sister, Elin Freeman and many cousins and special friends, including Matthew and Marcy Ostrow and their children, Rachel, Emma, Sam, Naomi and Madeline. She was predeceased by a sister, Elsie.

Helga was born in Worcester, daughter of Ida Maria (Anderson) and Henry Fridman. Helga worked as a hairdresser, a dietician at Belmont Hospital, and for over 20 years was Superintendent of Shipping at U.S. Envelope in Worcester. She and her sister Elin were Charter Members of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Helga’s joyous spirit and gracious attitude impacted everyone she met. Her kindness and loving acceptance of people brought her love and respect. She will be greatly missed.

There will be a memorial service celebrating her life, Wednesday, December 9 at 2:00 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church. Donations in Helga’s memory may be made in lieu of flowers to Trinity Lutheran Church, 73 Lancaster St., Worcester.
