Duluth Georgia/Webster,MA. Orlando L. Alvarez,94,formerly of Webster,passed away November 11, 2009, in Duluth, Georgia. His wife of 64 years,Julia C.(Ibarra) Alvarez passed away December 10,2003.
He is survived by three children; Jose R. Alvarez and his wife Linda J. Alvarez of South Portland, Maine,Rebeca F. Alvarez of Duluth, Georgia,and Roberto O. Alvarez and his wife Marcy R. Alvarez of Duluth,Georgia..He also leaves grandchildren,Rachel A. Flaherty and her husband James,Kevin M. Alvarez and his wife Stacy all of South Portland,ME.,Matthew C. and Rebeca K. Alvarez of Duluth,GA.,great grandchildren, Nicholas D. Alvarez,William O. Alvarez,Jacob E. Flaherty, Julia R. Flaherty, and Margaret L. Flaherty all of South Portland.ME.and a long time family friend,Dr.A. Nicholas Groth of Orlando,FL.
Mr. Alvarez was born in Habana,Cuba a son of Jose Raul and Ramona (Rodriguez) Alvarez and moved to the United States with his family in 1962.
He was employed for many years at the former Deary Bros Dairy in Dudley,MA.
The funeral for Mr. Alvarez will be Saturday,December 12.2009 at 11 AM in the Robert J. Miller Funeral Home and Lake Chapel,366 School St.,Webster. Burial will follow in St.Joseph Garden of Peace Cemetery.
There will be a calling hour from 10AM to 11 AM prior to the service.
