Charlton,Ernest G. Nelson, 63, beloved husband,brother,father,uncle, died Tuesday,December 1,2009 at home.
Ernest "Ernie" was born in Worcester,a son of the late Edwin and Stella (Carlson) Nelson. He leaves his loving wife of 29 years,Annemarie (Bernard) Nelson,a daughter Jenifer Kustar and her husband Maros;a son Eric;a sister Vivian Gustafson and her husband William;a sister Evelyn Ask;a twin brother Edwin and his wife Nancy and numerous nephews and nieces. He ws predeceased by his sister Arline Hnilica,her husband Anthony and by his brother-in-law Henry Ask.
Ernie was a graduate of Millbury High School. He earned his engineering degree at Lowell Tech and his MBA at Clark University. He was employed at High Carbon WIre for 10 years and Norton(St.Gobain) for 26 years. He retired in 2005.
Ernie's attitude,when faced with adversity,was an inspiration to all who knew him. His challenges with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis, and more recently with ALS, did not prevent him from enjoying an active life centered around his family and church. His philosophy was simply "I do as much as I can and enjoy every day God gives to me."
The Memorial Service will be held on Sunday,December 6,2009 at 2PM at the Salem Covenant Church,215 East Mountain St.,Worcester,with a time of fellowship immediately following.
In lieu of flowers,memorial gifts may be made, in his name,to Salem Covenant Church,215 East Mountain St.,Worcester,MA. 01660.
