Laconia---Marcel “Mac” Theberge, 84, of Meredith Center Road, died at Genesis Eldercare Network-Laconia Center on Tuesday, December 1, 2009. Mr. Theberge was the widower of Marjorie L. (French) Theberge who died on February 3, 2009. They had been married sixty-two years at the time of her death.
Mr. Theberge was born October 24, 1925 in Laconia, N.H., the son of Alphonse and Exelia (Boutin) Theberge.
Mr. Theberge served in the U. S. Navy during WWII. He was a lifelong resident of Laconia and was a letter carrier for the U. S. Postal Service for thirty years. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Laconia Post #1670, the Laconia Lodge of Elks #876 and the National Association of Letter Carriers.
Mr. Theberge was a communicant of Our Lady of the Lakes Church.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Michael & Joann Theberge, of Mentor, Ohio; two daughters and sons-in-law, Catherine Ann and William Lee, Jr., of Barrington, Illinois and Lori Cate and Paul Young, Jr. of Laconia; four grandchildren, Carrie Lee and Marshall Lee both of Barrington, Illinois and Amelia Cate and Kayleigh Cate both of Laconia; three step grandchildren, Katie Young, Krystine Young and Tyler Young, all of Laconia; a brother, Francis Theberge, of Brooksville, Florida; two sisters, Gertrude LaTulippe of Sevierville, Tennessee and Jackie O’Shea of Laconia and several nephews and nieces. Besides his parents and his wife, Mr. Theberge was predeceased by a sister, Simone Sassi.
There are no calling hours.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 7, 2009 at 11:00AM at Our Lady of the Lakes Church, 50 Washington Street, Lakeport, N.H.
Burial will be at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, N.H.
