TAUNTON – Rita May (Duarte) Neto, wife of the late Gregory G. Neto, died at Morton Hospital on Nov. 30, 2009.
She was 86.
Born in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Leonard) Duarte.
Mrs. Neto was raised and educated in Taunton, and was a communicant of Annunciation of the Lord Church.
A homemaker for most of her adult life, she enjoyed braiding rugs in her spare time, as well as crocheting and cross-stitching.
She also enjoyed cooking and baking.
Her blueberry and apple squares were family favorites.
Survivors include a son, John D. Neto of Cumberland, RI; 4 daughters, Theresa A. O’Connor of Rehoboth, Lorraine M. Sousa and Rita M. Machado, both of Taunton, and Barbara J. Cruz of Tiverton, RI; 20 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also the mother of the late Greg Neto, and the sister of the late John and Mary Duarte.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway on Saturday, Dec. 5th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Mary’s Church at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Friday, Dec. 4th from 5 to 8 p.m.
