Rose Eleanor Floyd French, 92, passed away on Tuesday, December 1, 2009, at her residence in Water Valley, MS. She was born in Carrolton, MS to the late Robert L. and Nannie Sullivan Floyd. She was a member of the Water Valley Church of Christ and the Water Valley Garden Club. She loved playing bridge, gardening and riding horses (especially her horse Ace). She has a large extended family that she loved very much.
The visitation will be held Wednesday, December 2, 2009 from 5 to 7 PM at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 3, 2009 at 2 PM in Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. David Floyd officiating. The committal will be held in Oak Hill Cemetery in Water Valley, MS, with Chris Goodwin, Landon McDaniel, Larry Schmitz, Paul Schmitz, Dale Miller, and Larry Floyd serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jason French, Ralph Norwood, Ben Blair, Duane Pierce, Travis Brooks, Brad Brooks, Frank B. Brooks, and Bobby Schmitz.
Mrs. French is survived by a daughter, Chryl French Goodwin and husband Kenny of Water Valley, MS; a son Millard Lee French and wife Joyce of Water Valley, MS; a sister, Lucille Floyd Miller of Grenada, MS; a brother, Robert Floyd of Grenada, MS; five grandchildren, Lee Ann Miller, Jason Edward French, Chris Goodwin, Kelly Goodwin Cannon, and Elizabeth Goodwin Potts; and eight great grandchildren.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, E. Doke French; two sisters, Lillie Mae Schmitz and Annabelle Bursi; and three brothers, Leroy Floyd, Exel Floyd, and C. B. Floyd.
