Russell G. Negus, of Portsmouth passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2009 at the age of 91. He was the son of the late Ralph T. and Lottie E. (Durfee) Negus.
He was fondly known as the “Butterfly Man” as he enjoyed collecting and displaying his many butterfly pins on several hats. Russell was a great storyteller of his adventures in his younger years as a polo player, member of the Auxiliary Civil Air Patrol, volunteer Fireman, volunteer Harbor Master and he was the medicine delivery man for Duffy’s Pharmacy. In his later years, Russell enjoyed bowling, yard sales, puttering in his garage and tending to his yard aboard his ride on lawn mower. He will be greatly missed by his beloved next door neighbors.
He was the brother of the late James E. Negus.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at 11:30 A.M. at Pocasset Hill Cemetery, Tiverton.
