Obituary

Helen J. (Murphy) French, 98, 0f Walpole died November 29 in her home, she was the wife of the late Edgar Reginald French.
Born in New Waterford Cape Breton Nova Scotia, Canada, September 27, 1911, the daughter of the late Harry and Effie (McKinnon) Murphy, Mrs. French had lived in Newton before moving to Walpole 70 years ago.
Mrs. French was a graduate of Newton High School.
Mrs. French worked for the Town of Walpole for many years. She first worked in the school cafeterias and then became the telephone operator at the Town Hall.
She had previously worked at Kendall Mills in Walpole.
Mrs. French had been a member of the Lend a Hand Club and the Catholic Women’s Club of Blessed Sacrament Church.
She enjoyed cooking and sewing.
She is survived by her son Richard French and his wife Martha of Sequim, Washington and her daughter Jane Davis and her husband Douglas of Foxboro.
She was the sister of many deceased brothers and sisters.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Richard French Jr., Michael French, Kristin French, Christopher Davis, Kimberly Davis and Kevin Davis.
She is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 2 in Blessed Sacrament Church at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will be in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
Visitation will be on Wednesday from 9:00-9:45 in the Ginley Funeral Home, 892 Main St. in Walpole.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the Caritas Good Samaritan Hospice, 3 Edgewater Drive, Norwood, Ma 02062.
