BEAVERCREEK, OH- Margaret C. (Gustafson) Engwall, 98, passed away on November 27, 2009, at Trinity Home in Beavercreek, Ohio. She was born in Worcester, to the late Thore and Clara (Benson) Gustafson. She was preceded in death by her husband Edwin L. Engwall who died in 1985; sister Ethel Nelson, and brothers Ralph, Walter, Carl, Herbert, Robert and Roy.
She leaves two sons Ralph E. Engwall and his wife Barbara of Worcester and David Engwall and his wife Kathleen of Beavercreek, OH; four grand-children and spouses Ralph R. (Hong) Engwall of Sunnyvale CA, Erik (Hongmei) Engwall of Houston TX, Kimberly Fletcher (Colin) of Beavercreek OH, and Karen M. (Rodney) Rose of Leesburg, OH. She is the great-grandmother to Luke and Kirsten Engwall; Connor, Madeline and Chloe Fletcher and Gwendolyn and Mitchell Rose with whom she enjoyed many hours in recent years. Also surviving are sisters-in-law Marcia and Edith Gustafson of West Boylston, MA, eight nieces and nephews, and several cousins.
She graduated in the class of 1933 from the School of Nursing at the Memorial Hospital in Worcester and practiced private-duty nursing in Worcester thereafter. A life-long member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Quinsigamond Village, Worcester where for many years she participated with the women’s Dorcas group. Margaret spent her life serving and caring for other people and will be greatly missed by her family.
A visiting hour will be held from 10-11AM on Friday, December 4th followed by a service at 11AM at LINDQUIST LUNDIN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Butler St., Worcester, MA. Burial will be in All Faith's Cemetery.
