Charlotte L. Napier Wood, 80, Athens , AL. formerly of Clarksville, died Friday, Nov. 27, 2009, at Athens Convalescent Center, Athens, AL.. The funeral will be held at 12:00 PM Monday at Neal-Tarpley Chapel with Rev. Paul Tramel officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Sunday and from 10:00 AM until the hour of service Monday at the funeral home. Neal-Tarpley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Charlotte was born Nov. 30th, 1928 in Hawesville, Ky. the daughter of the late Rev.Porter P. Napier and Bessie Hargan Napier. She was the widow of Kenneth E. Wood, Sr. Charlotte is also preceded in death by two brothers, Porter Napier, Jr. and Robert Napier. Charlotte was a teachers aide for the Montgomery County School System and a member of Forest Street United Methodist Church. Charlotte is survived by one son Kenneth E. Wood, Jr. of Clarksville, one daughter; Terry Lee Soyk of Athens, AL. and five grandchildren. Pallbearers will be: Kirk Wood, Kacy Wood, Kory Wood, Chase Soyk, Taylor Soyk and Steve Napier.
