Orlando Vega, 80, a resident of Lawrence, MA., passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2009 at the Lawrence General Hospital.
Born in Havana, Cuba, Orlando was educated in Cuba and came to the Lawrence area in 1972. He had worked as a printer for Malden Mills for some 25 years. Orlando used to like to go fishing.
Members of his family include: his wife of 51 years: Leonor (Perez) Vega
daughters: Lourdes Healy and her husband Kevin J. Healy of Methuen, MA., and Magaly Vega of Lawrence, MA.
a granddaughter: Tanya M. Healy
brothers and sisters: Eulalia Alvarez of Florida, Rolando Vega of Lawrence, MA., Nereida Guzman of Florida, Luis Vega of Cuba, and Magaly Lara of Haverhill, MA., as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Orlando was brother of the late Emilio Vega.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 28, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Lawrence, MA. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, also in Lawrence.
