Amelia (Ricardo) Almeida, age 88, of Fall River, passed away Nov. 21, 2009. Wife of Anibal D. Almeida. Born in Mosteiros, Sao Miguel, Azores, the daughter of the late Jose & Antonia (Cabral) Ricardo. Prior to retiring, Amelia worked as a Crealhand for the former Quaker Fabric Mfg. Co. She was a parishioner of St. Michael Church.
Besides her husband, she is survived by 7 children: Isabel Silva of Fall River, Anibal Affonse Almeida of Florida, Humberta Pontes of Fall River, Adriana DeMedeiros of Somerset, Antonio Almeida of Florida, George Almeida of Somerset, and Amanda Pacheco of Fall River. A sister, Maria Santos of Fall River, 16 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, & many nieces & nephews. She was the mother of the late Adriana DeJesus Almeida and sister of the late Jose & Manuel Ricardo.
Her funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME 1521 N. Main St. Wednesday at 8:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael Church at 9:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling hours Tuesday 5-8 P.M.
