Chester V. Oberg of Estero, Florida, died November 7, 2009, in Fort Myers. He was 85 years old. A former resident of Quincy and Braintree, Chester lived in Estero for the past ten years. An avid golfer, he was an active member of the Men’s League at Country Creek Country Club. He served in the Army during World War II.
Beloved husband of Claire (Marlyne) Oberg and the late Angie (Medico) Oberg.
Father of Carol Ann Oberg of Hightstown, New Jersey, William D. Oberg and his wife Dawn of Marshfield and John F. Oberg of Whitman. Brother of Lillian Leone of Quincy. Grandfather of Toby Oberg and his wife Angela of Hamilton Square, New Jersey, Willam F. Oberg and his wife Kristen of Plymouth, Kelly Oberg of Marshfield, Lauren (Oberg) Ruprecht and her husband Andrew of Weymouth and Leah Oberg of Whitman. Also survived by two great grandchildren.
There will be no visiting hours. A graveside service will be held at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree, on Saturday, November 21, at 11:00 A.M. Those attending should meet at the Blue Hill Cemetery Office 700 West St, Braintree before proceeding to the grave site.
