Robert "Bob" E. Vachon Sr., age 75, of Lowell, passed away on Thursday, November 19, 2009 at the Saints Medical Center in Lowell. He was the beloved husband of Patricia L. (Bertrand) Vachon to whom he was married for 40 years.
Born in Lowell, November 6, 1934 the son of Horace Vachon and Blanche (Savory) Winiaski.
Mr. Vachon attended Lowell Schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School. He was a Navy Veteran of the Korean War having served aboard the USS Bainbridge.
Prior to his retirement he was employed for 35 years with the Colonial Gas Company. Bob was an avid New England Patriots fan and enjoyed fishing and the "great outdoors". He especially enjoyed spending time with his two granddaughters.
Besides his wife Pat, he is survived by his son, Rob Vachon Jr. of Spokane, Washington; his daughter, Jacqueline M. Vachon-Jackson, of Lowell; a sister, Dorothy Mavraides, of Lowell; 2 granddaughters, Shayna H. Jackson and Nicole J. Jackson, both of Lowell.
Relatives and friends may call at the M. R. LAURIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket St., Lowell on Sunday, November 22, from 2 to 5 pm.. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday morning at 9:00 am at St. Rita's Church in Lowell. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery.
