Sylvia H. (Howland) Fish, 83, of Mattapoisett died November 17, 2009 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness.
She was the wife of Abbott W. Fish, Jr.
Born in Walpole, MA, the daughter of the late Ralph and Laura (Garby) Howland, she lived in Walpole while summering in Mattapoisett and Wintering in Sarasota, FL before becoming a permanent resident of Mattapoisett in 1998.
Mrs. Fish was formerly employed as a secretary and buyer for the Century Paper Company in Boston for many years until her retirement.
She was a graduate of Penn Hall School and Katherine Gibbs Business School.
She enjoyed sailing and golf.
Survivors include her husband; a sister, Phyllis Gowing of Mattapoisett; several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Richard Howland, Robert Howland and Allen Howland.
