Whitman – Susan Marie (Cloyd) Westhaver 58 died , peacefully ,surrounded by her family on Tuesday November 17. She was the beloved wife of Donnie Westhaver.
Born in Boston she was the daughter of Lillian M. (Pollock) Cloyd of Whitman and the late Walter C. Cloyd. She grew up in the Savin Hill section of Dorchester where she met her husband Donnie. She moved to Whitman in 1968 where she has remained, and was a graduate of Whitman-Hanson High School Class of 1969.
She worked as a phlebotomist for over 9 years at South Health, formerly the Braintree Rehab.
She loved to travel especially to Florida and Aruba, but her greatest joy was being a devoted “Nana” to her grandchildren Jaden, Tucker and Lindsay
In addition to her husband Donnie and her mother Lillian she is survived by her loving children Eric Westhaver and his wife Alicia of Hanson, Lauren Owens and her husband Michael of Whitman, and Sherri Quirke and her husband Timothy of Brockton, her sisters Nancy J. Dorschied of East Freetown and Virginia M. Lundstedt of Bridgewater and her brother Walter G. Cloyd of Holbrook. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Barbara J. Cloyd.
Her funeral service will be held Monday November 23 at 10:15 AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman, followed by a mass at 11 AM in the Holy Ghost Church, Whitman. Burial will follow in the St. James Cemetery, Whitman. Visiting hours will be held Sunday November 22 from 2-6 PM.
