Obituary

Charles H. Willey, 73, of Auburn, NH, died Monday, November 16, 2009 in the Elliot Hospital, Manchester, NH. Mr. Willey was born in Norwich, Vermont on January 22, 1936, son of the late Robert and Gertrude (Cossingham) Willey. Mr. Willey lived in Auburn most of his life. He was retired from RC Hazelton Company and Remi Fortin Construction Company as a heavy equipment driver mechanic. He was a US Air Force Veteran. Mr. Willey was a volunteer with the Auburn Fire Department. He was a member of the Auburn Lions Club and the Manchester Motorcycle Club for 25 plus years. For many years Mr. Willey was the Sexton of Village Cemetery in Auburn.
Mr. Willey a kind gentleman with a peaceful spirit and witty humor, is survived by his wife, Dolores (Attalla) Willey, one sister, Roberta A. Watz, two brothers, Kenneth S. and Francis L. Willey, a special niece, Summer Olson as well as numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents and one sister, Margaret J. Raitt.
Calling hours were held on Thursday, November 19, 2009 from 4-7 pm at Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry, NH, with a memorial service that followed at 7 pm. Memorials may be made to Auburn Volunteer Fire Department, 6 Pingree Hill Road, Auburn, NH 03032.
