David A. Joseph, 82, of Greenville, a retired state employee, died Sunday at Miriam Hospital. He was the husband of Helen (Badway) Joseph. They had been married for 51 years.
Born in New Hartford, NY, he was a son of the late Louis and Naomi (Saad) Joseph. He had been a resident of Greenville for 15 years and had previously lived in Providence.
He was a WWII Army Veteran. He graduated from the NE Conservatory of Music and RI College. He played the French horn for the National Symphony Orchestra in Washington, DC and the RI Philharmonic. He was a member of Barker Playhouse.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his son Louis D. Joseph and his wife Deirdre, of Coventry, his daughters Naomi J. Andon and her husband, Michael of Andover, MA, and Anne Joseph of Greenville, and his three grandchildren; Peter and John Andon and Lauren Joseph. He was the brother of the late Esther Badway and Barbara Maiorano.
His funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:00am from the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Chrisitian Burial at 10:00am in St. Raymond’s Church, 1240 North Main Street, Providence. Burial will follow in St. Ann’s Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday 5-8pm.
