Obituary

Olive M. (MacLeod) Arthur 89 of Walpole, died November 13 in the Epoch of Sharon. She was the wife of the late Kenneth W. Arthur who died in 2003.
Born Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada, August 10, 1920 the daughter of the late Samuel and Mabel (VanInderstine) MacLeod, Mrs. Arthur was raised and lived in Canada prior to moving to Walpole in 1956.
She lived in Walpole until retiring to North Carolina in 1986 where she lived until returning to Walpole in 1998.
Mrs. Arthur had been an engineering assistant for the Allis Chalmbers Company from 1958 -1971.
Mrs. Arthur, member of the Walpole Republican Town Committee, worked at the polls for over 25 years.
A, member of the Epiphany Episcopal Church, every June she would chop over 500 lbs. of strawberries for the shortcake at the Village Fair.
Mrs. Arthur was a true adventurer, , in 1943 , during World War II, she journeyed across the Atlantic with her infant son to Birmingham ,England ,to be with her husband Ken who was serving in the RAF.
In 1995 she and her late husband back packed in Belize and at the age of 70, for her 50th wedding anniversary she parasailed in Jamaica.
She is survived by her son Kenneth G. Arthur and his wife Pat of Walpole, her daughters Pamela Huguelet and her husband David of Walpole and her daughter Heather Pezold of Walpole.
She is also survived by her brother Harold MacLeod of Uigg of PEI. and sister Esther Jeffords of Sacramento, California.
She was the grandmother of Sandy LaCasse and her husband Tim, Robert Arthur and his wife Moriah, Meredith Pezold, Matthew Pezold, Eric and Tammy Huguelet and the late Kim Arthur.
Her funeral service will be held on Monday November 16 in the Epiphany Episcopal Church of Walpole at 1:00.
Visiting hours will be on Sunday from 3-6, in the Ginley Funeral Home 892 Main St. Walpole.
