Obituary

Cyril Michael White, a long time resident of Andover and beloved husband of Ruth E. (Eppensteiner) died at the Holy Family Hospital in Methuen on Friday, November 13, 2009. He was 88 years old.
Born in Millstone, New Jersey, Cyril was the beloved son of the late Michael and Marie (Pierce) White. Mr. White was a graduate Rider College in Trenton, New Jersey and Northeastern University, where he completed his graduate studies. He was a WWII Veteran, service during WWII in the Army Air Corps. Enlisting at Monmouth, New Jersey, on September 11, 1942 and attaining the rank of Sergeant, he worked as a Propeller Mechanic and received his honorable discharge on December 27, 1945. He was deployed to New Guinea, the South Philippines, Luzon and the Western Pacific. Mr. White was awarded the American Theater Ribbon, Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, Philippine Theater Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and the Victory Medal for his outstanding service.
In civilian life Cyril worked as and Accountant for the government in the Department of Transportation, for many years. He was also a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Ballardvale.
Besides his beloved wife, Ruth, Mr. White will be sorely missed by one daughter: Denise M. White of Tewksbury, one son and daughter-in-law; Timothy M. and his wife Lynn A. White of Deerfield Beach, Florida and two grandsons; Duncan W. and Aidan M. White.
His Funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 11 High Vale Lane, Ballardvale, Monday, November 16, 2009, at 10 AM. Many relatives and friends were in attendance. Calling hours were omitted.
