Barbara Louise (Cavanaugh) Tomlinson, 70, of New Bedford died Monday September 1, 2003 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness. She was the wife of Harry Tomlinson,and daughter of the late Francis and Martha (Kalisz) Cavanaugh.
Mrs. Cavanaugh was born in Raynham and had lived in New Bedford for most of her life. She was a graduate of New Bedford High School.
She was formerly employed at the Star Store in New Bedford
Survivors include her husband; a son, David M. Tomlinson and his wife Rebekah, of Acushnet; a daughter, Karen L. Surprenant of Rochester; a brother, Donald Cavanaugh of Leominster; 3 sisters, Shirley Choquette of New Bedford, Maureen Billington of Sarasota, Fla., and Patricia Vieira of Honolulu, Hawaii; 4 grandchildren, Kelli Tomlinson, Katelyn Tomlinson, Kasey Surprenant and Lindsey Surprenant; and several nieces and nephews.She was the sister of the late Francis Cavanaugh.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Thursday September 4, 2003 at 11 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park Street, New Bedford. Burial will follow in Acushnet Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday morning from 10-11 AM prior to the service.
