WORCESTER__Theresa A. (Lafond) Wiechniak, 75, of Worcester, died Wednesday, November 11, in Christopher House of Worcester. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Alfred E. Wiechniak; three sisters, Claire Kovach of Maple Heights, Ohio, Cecile Douglas and Evelyn LaFontaine, both of Worcester; a brother-in-law, Ernest P. Brackett, many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Paul Wiechniak who died in 1976. Theresa was born in Worcester, a daughter of Arthur and Lillian (Plouffe) Lafond and lived here all her life.
Mrs. Wiechniak worked at the former Providence House Nursing Center before retiring. She was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church. Terry was a former member of the Polish American Veterans of WWII Auxiliary.
A funeral will be held on Friday, November 13, from HENRY - DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home are Thursday, November 12, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
