Richard J. Newman, a resident of Wakefield for only 6 months and former 15 year resident of Melrose and longtime resident of Reading, died suddenly in Boston on Monday, November 9, 2009. He was 38 years old.
Richard was born in Melrose on November 6, 1971. He grew up in Reading and attended Reading Public Schools and graduated from Reading High School in 1990. He also received his associates degree. Richard has worked as a Microsoft Engineer for the last 5 years at Nataxis Global Associates a financial company in Boston. Richard was an avid sportsman playing softball, baseball and football. He enjoyed the beach and working out at the gym and music while being a D.J.
Richard is the loving and adored son of Richard L. Newman and Marie R. (Dunne) Newman. He is the loving fiance of Lindsay Wight of Wakefield. He is the devoted and loving brother of Maria A. Hurley and her husband Brian of Groveland and April R. Newman of Reading. He is the loving uncle of Zachary and Angelica Hurley. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Richard's Funeral Service on Friday, November 13, 2009, at 10 a.m. in The Carr Funeral Home, 1159 Main Street, Melrose/Wakefield line. Visiting hours will be on Thursday, November 12, 2009, from 3 to 8 p.m. Burial will be private.
