Obituary

Arnold A. Filosi, 91 of Medford, died Friday unexpectedly in the Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, MA.

Born in Cambridge, he lived in Medford for 65 years and was the son of the late Elvira (Failo) and Vincent Filosi. He was a late US Army veteran of WW II.

Beloved husband of the late Janette M. (Donadio) Filosi. Devoted father of Vincent Filosi and his wife Jeanne of Florida and Georgia, Janette Tognarelli and her husband Tuggy of Medford. Loving grandfather of Mark Filosi and his wife Mary, Scott Filosi and his wife Culleen, Dean Tognarelli and his wife Lisa, Kirk Tognarelli, Brigette Borkowski and her husband John. Loving great grandfather of Zachary, Brandon, Tyler, Sarah and Nicholas Filosi, Tyla and Hunter Tognarelli, Farrah and Lucius Borkowski. Brother of the late Louie, Raymond, Joseph, Michael and Anna Filosi.

Mr. Filosi was a foreman at Don’s Mattress for many years and then General Manager of Don’s Contract Mattress and Furniture Factory in Somerville. After retiring he returned to work as an upholsterer until his early 80’s. Know as a “Jack of all trades and a Master of many” he was always there for family and friends as a carpenter, plumber, electrician, or painter. Arnold was a great storyteller, always entertaining family and friends with stories and pranks from his youth and beyond. He was a generous and loving person who will be lovingly remembered and sorely missed by his family and devoted friends at home and in his beloved Cape Cod neighborhood. Arnold never stopped missing his loving wife Janette, talking to her and daily visiting her resting “garden” to water her plants. After 62 years of marriage, he was not truly happy without her and longed to be with her where he now happily rests.
