Fall River – Adelaide A. “Adele” (Couto) Jean, 72, of Tiverton, RI died November 6, 2009 at St. Anne’s Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Norman W. Jean for 50 years.
Mrs. Jean was born in Fall River, daughter of the late Manuel and Marion (Ouellette) Couto, and resided in Tiverton since 1966. She was a communicant of St. Theresa’s Church, Tiverton. She was a graduate of Westport High School, class of 1955. She was employed as a secretary by the Social Security office in New Bedford until her retirement. She was active in church functions, enjoyed ballroom dancing and was a member of the Friends of Ballroom Dancing.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a sister: Lorraine Belanger of Fall River, MA; a brother: William Couto of Little Compton, RI; and several nieces and nephews.
She was sister of the late Evelyn Boyd and Hilda Viveiros.

Funeral from the Potter Funeral Home, 81 Reed Road, Westport on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at 8:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Theresa’s Church, Tiverton, RI at 10:00 A.M.
Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
