Mary Carmella Fusco, age 96, a longtime resident of Maplewood, Malden died peacefully on November 6 at Glen Ridge Nursing Care Center in Medford. She was born Maria Capello, on October 13, 1913 in Newton, MA to Joseph and Fortuna (Caruso) Capello. Due to family problems, she was placed into the Home For Italian Children Orphanage. She remained a widow for 50 years in order to raise and provide for her children. After the death of her husband she worked in sales for Jordan Marsh, first in Boston then in Malden, then for Sears Roebuck in Saugus, retiring from there in 1975.
She was the loving mother of the late Vincent P. Fusco who died in 1991 and twin sons Pack Fusco of Rockport, and Jack Fusco of Malden. She is survived by 6 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild. She will be dearly missed by all 5 generations.
