Diamontina (Pereira) Tavares, age 104 of Fall River. Widow of Charles A. Tavares and daughter of the late Louis T. and Beatrice (Cabral) Pereira. Passed away November 6,2009. She was a retired spinner and weaver at Sagamore, Border City & Durfee mills. She was a member of the Salvation Army Home League.
She is survived by 2 daughters: Ruth Ferreira of Fall River and Marjorie Stephenson of New Bedford; 1 sister: Emily Dupont of Fall River; 18 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 16 great great grandchildren and many nieces & nephews. She was mother of the late Arnold Tavares and Albert Tavares and sister of the late John & Arthur Perry, Mary Correia, Gertrude Travis and Evelyn Soares.
Her funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1521 N. Main St. TUESDAY at 12 P.M. with a service at the Salvation Army Chapel at 1 P.M. Interment in Oak Grove Cemetery. Calling hours Monday 5-9 P.M.
